KAA Delivers Fantastic Production of Oliver

In the last week of the Summer Term we held our annual big school production working with professional sets and costumes.

This year the school performance was Oliver. We had students working hard over the last six months, and the school production is truly where they 'Consider themselves at home'. Students from Year 7 to Year 12 have honed their singing, dancing and acting skills to produce another fantastic end of year production.

In addition to performance skills, the students have also developed their collaboration, creativity and commitment.

It involved our Upper Voices Choir and the music was performed by our KAA band of 11 students which was the first time we had a fully student-led band at a production. In total the production involved 55 students comprising both the cast and supporting members and there were four performances in all – two in the school for parents, partners and students and two in our feeder primary schools.

The lead role was taken by a brand new Year 7 student and the role of Fagan was taken by one of our A’ Level Drama students with both giving memorable performances.

Funding from KIT allowed not only the purchase of professional rights, set and costume, but additionally a band director to support rehearsing the student band weekly.

We are still to decide on our Summer Production in 2025 but our Xmas Pantomime will be Robin Hood on 19 December 2024.
