Goodbye to David Benson!

After nearly 10 years as founding Principal of KAA, we are very sadly bidding farewell to David Benson, who is moving on to take a position as Headteacher of Mill Hill School.

David has led the school from its opening with just one year group in 2014 to an “outstanding” Ofsted rating in 2017. KAA was awarded the prestigious “TES School of the Year” award in 2018, in recognition of the resilience the school showed in response to the Grenfell Tower Tragedy.

Many of you will have met David, and will have therefore appreciated first-hand his dedication to the education and well-being of each and every student at the Academy. David has also been a true champion of the Intrepidus Trust's work, creating space within the busy and intense school timetable for educational enrichments outside the classroom. In his recent letter to parents and carers at the school, David said: "Being the founding Principal of KAA has been the honour of my life and an experience I will never forget."

Current Head of School Anna Jordan will formally take over from David as KAA’s new Principal in November. Anna is an experienced school leader who has been with KAA since its inception in 2014, and has been central to all the school’s success. With Anna at the helm, supported by KAA's excellent leadership teams, we are confident that the school will go from strength to strength under her leadership.
